Multi-Purpose Dream!

Confession time… I’ve owned this marula oil for a year now and it only just occurred to me to write a review. Why you ask? Well, I’ve been using this MarulaOil by Paul Mitchell predominantly on my skin – the face most of the time. Twice a week I’ll use it to seal my hair but because I use this oil mainly for my face, it didn’t register that I should review it on the site focused on hair!

Let me back up and start from the beginning. I received this product when we featured it on our My Curls Understood subscription box. We started getting great reviews on the product so I already knew that I should add it to my list of products to try ASAP (I get so many products to try you can’t imagine the backlog).

So here I am, a year later and 7 months into using this product and I can’t get enough of it. First of all, the smell is fresh, subtle and unique. I’m not sure if this is the natural smell of macula is this is my first time trying this type of oil but the smell seems so natural and effortless.

Marula Oil comes from wild trees in the remote rural communities in South Africa. This brand is cold-pressed to capture all the nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins and omegas that deliver nutrition, moisture and vibrancy to your hair and skin.

When I use this super light oil on my face, my skin is super soft and feels moisturized all day. When I use it on my hair it smells awesome for hours. I have very fine hair so I appreciate that this product does not wear my hair down. If you have thick hair you’ll probably find this product too light for your hair. Especially since you don’t get more than 50ml.

This product can cost anywhere from $40-$65 a pop. Yes that’s a lot of money but it’s worth it. We’ve had our box subscribers tell us the oil prevented them from obtaining stretch marks, that it cured acne scarred skin and made their hair soft. It’s a great all round product.
