Smells Divine

I had given up on Cantu’s products after trying their Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream, but as soon I tried their Cantu She Butter Coconut Curling Cream from the Natural Hair line, they pulled me back in! Besides how hydrating it is and how it beautifully it defined my curls, the smell is absolutely heavenly. When I used the product the smell lasted all day and I received several compliments on it – thanks Cantu!

The directions printed on the jar claim that the product can be used on dry hair to re-moisturize curls, or for twist/braid outs, so I decided to put it to the test. I used it to finger coil freshly washed and deep conditioned hair. It has a light, whipped consistency. It moved through my hair very well as I created my coils by twisting my hair around my fingers, and did not feel heavy on my hair at all.

I did 15 small-medium sized coils in total and let them air-dry overnight. In the morning, my hair was still so moisturized and so shiny from the night before. After unraveling each coil one by one, the curls were defined and frizz was virtually non-existent. I was in awe. I touched up some stubborn strands with more of the product, curled them around my fingers and was good to go.

It gets better. Cantu’s Coconut Curling Cream is sulfate, silicon, paraben and mineral oil free, for all of my curlfriends who are looking to stay away from these ingredients. I would recommend this product to any curly girl. It’s water based, it’s extremely moisturizing, it’s lightweight, it’s perfect. I plan to try it again on dry hair as Cantu directs, to re-moisturize and re-vamp an old style.

I tried and loved their Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream. My hair loved it but my body did not. I noticed and tested that every time I used this product I would get headaches.

I switched to the Cantu She Butter Coconut Curling Cream and absolutely love it. My curls pop each and every time. It is my staple product! My only issue with using it is when it is wash day, after I rinse all the product out, my hair feels like it is stripped. Has anyone else experienced this? Can someone recommend a great deep conditioner to use when washing and then going back to the Cantu She Butter Coconut Curling Cream? Should I use an oil based conditioner perhaps?
