5 Natural Hairstyles for the Holidays

Tis the season. And with the holiday season comes many choices like what to eat, where to eat and what to wear! Don’t let your hair be one of the things you worry about through the end of the year. Stressing on a hairstyle for the night can take the fun out of prepping. Let’s make it exciting again. The next time you’re going out on the town or even a date with your honey, try one of these sizzling hairstyles. Confidence is key. So rock your look with a splash of confidence.

Old Hollywood Pin Up

Stop. Him. Dead. in his tracks with this old Hollywood look. This look exudes a feminine charm and screams retro chic. While it may seem complicated to do, it’s actually quite easy to master. Just remember to have a polished and clean look at the end. That means smoothing down your edges and taking care of flyaways.

• All you need is a hair tie and bobby pins.
• This should be done on stretched or slightly stretched hair.
• Create a fringe or bang section at the front of your hair, brush hair forward and twist.
• Secure your fringe and bang with a bobby pin.
• Then brush remaining hair into a neat ponytail.
• Depending on the thickness of your hair, you can use a donut to create a bun. Or if you have a lot of hair, then wrap it around to create a knot.

Perm Rod Set

Perm rods will give you really soft and flirty look. Here’s what you’ll need:

• Perm rods- size of your choice.
• Foam or mousse is optional.
• Water to dampen your hair.
• Hooded dryer, or let it hair dry.

It’s vital to make sure your hair is dry before taking down the perm rods. Add some oil and gently separate the hair – the oil will prevent frizz. You can choose to wear it down or grab some bobby pins and push the back up to create a fun up do like a puff on top of your head.

High Bun/Low Bun

This is one of my go-to styles. When all else fails, my buns always come to the rescue. Short on time? Not to worry. Sweep your hair in an effortless yet classy bun. A high bun screams high fashion. And a low bun screams elegance.

• All you need is gel to lay down your edges.
• A hair tie and a brush to sweep your hair in a ponytail position.
• Perhaps try a high and low bun at the same time!

This gets your hair out of your face and off your neck so you can tastefully show off a little skin, your clavicle, décolletage or your shoulder. You can pair it with some dazzling earrings.

Twist and Curl

This is my ultimate favorite look. Disclaimer, your honey may just want to play with your hair. This style is so easy and its super cute. It works for all hair types.

• Simply 2 strand twist your hair and as you get to the end of your hair use perm rods to secure your ends.
• Let it hair air dry or sit under a hooded dryer
• Add a little oil to your hair and gently separate your curls.

Crazy Sexy Cool (Fro)

Now big hair doesn’t mean un-tamed hair. If you’re feeling wild, daring and sexy, you can go all out with a foxy and sexy fro. Yes a fro. All you need is a pick. Slightly blowdry your hair and pick it out for some sexy and fun voluminous curls.

Quick Tip: Don’t have the length yet? Add natural extensions to give you the same look as your longer haired natural sistas.
