Operation length retain has commenced people. Since I started my natural hair transformation, I’ve been all about healthy hair and getting that bounce in my coils. After many trial and error periods, I was finally able to alienate the problem; dry scalp and over moisturized strands. (Is this a thing?) Here I review the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil line as part of my quest.

I have to be honest in telling you Shea Moisture is the only thing that has helped me kick off this regimen appropriately. My scalp is finally adequately moisturized my strands have a bounce and I can actually attain a defined twist / braid out.

Here are two new items I’ve been able to add to my collection: The Intensive Hydration Conditioner and the Intensive Hydration Complex.

The conditioner has a fragrant almost organic smell to it and its consistency makes it easy to pump when needed. When I initially applied this to my hair there was a slightly stripped feeling. (The kind you feel when you first use a cleansing shampoo). After applying the Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil, I found that the concoction finally absorbed into my hair and almost immediately became soft to touch. Although the conditioner is amazing on its own, I would definitely recommend the combination for a deep condition / oil treatment. This Conditioner can be purchased at Target.com. I give this product alone 10 out of 10.

I initially thought this oil might be too heavy and may not absorb quickly but I was pleasantly proven wrong immediately. The sweet smelling Manuka honey and Mafura oil mix is not only light but easily absorbent into any hair texture without the greasy heavy feel. Initially I used an excessive amount for a pre-poo treatment as describe above but once I began using it as a scalp moisturizer on my dry hair, I decided to save it for just that. The honey nourishes your scalp while the oil is absorbed into your strands moisturizing the hair from root to tip. This oil is definitely multi-purpose and I would definitely suggest this for all naturals, transitioners and even chemically treated hair. This intensive hydration complex can be purchased on the Shea Moisture site. I give this product 10 out of 10 too.

Initially what attracted me to the line was the Community Commerce Fights Poverty tags. They claim 10% of sales go to the community commerce initiative. 10% of sales of these specific items go to women-led businesses, to support communities that supply ingredients for our products, or to support The Sofi Tucker Foundation.
