I’m always on the search for natural hair products made of natural ingredients so I was delighted when the lovely Kristy of MopTop contacted me. I took the MopTop “What’s Your Frizz?” 90 second quiz and discovered I had Type 6: Adult Thin. This meant I was prescribed the MopTop’s Type 6 Prescription Bundle including the Mop Top light conditioner.
Kristy sent me the bundle, though I’m only covering the Light Conditioner, Citrus Medley in this review (the shampoo and leave-in conditioner reviews to follow).
The conditioner has a soft citrus smell that’s very subtle. I love that. I hate it when products have an overpowering odor. I always wash and condition my hair in sections/twists. Or should I say condition and then wash in this case because I used this conditioner to detangle my hair first then washed afterwards. This product has amazing slip! I was able to glide through my detangling process with ease. It makes a difference using a product without much slip – it takes me forever.
Another plus was that this product didn’t set off my allergies. Most conditioners cause me to sneeze incessantly for hours after I wash. I usually avoid this problem my not allowing any soapy water to run into my face but sometimes I always get some in my eyes and nose… then the sneezing begins. This product didn’t cause me any problems and it left my hair very soft.
The downside is for $23.95 you don’t get that much product. I don’t know about you but I use copious amounts of conditioner… maybe too much but still, I’d like to be able to use as much as I want without the guilt!
All in all for no silicones, no paragons and no wax the product is so mild I can’t imagine this not working on any hair type. It’s definitely worth a try.
