Up & Coming UK Brand

I was recently sent three Joliette products courtesy of CurlsUnderstood.com and AntidoteStreet.com based in the UK: the Joliette Caribbean Berry Whipped Creamy Leave In, the Joliette Caribbean Berry Hydrating Mist and the Joliette Caribbean Berry Curl Me Soft.

This was the first time I was sent products to review so imagine my excitement *happy dance* – but I guess that’s one of the perks of being a Curly Ambassador.

Caribbean Berry Whipped Creamy Leave In

Now onto what we really came here for: the products! Let’s start with the Leave In. I tried this product a few times as I always do when trying new products – I used it for a braidout and a twistout. I really really liked this product. It left my hair feeling soft and moisturised without weighing it down. I have very thick hair so it can be hard finding moisturising leave ins that don’t make my hair feel overloaded with product or greasy. It also had a bit of slip meaning that it was pretty easy to work through my hair.

I particularly like how it comes in a bottle with a pump – it really does make life SO much easier (nudge nudge wink wink to other hair product manufacturers). The smell was pretty mild – it was kinda fruity and yummy, if that makes sense! To be honest, I do have other leave ins that work just as well as this one so I wouldn’t say it’s totally unique but I would definitely purchase this product to add to my arsenal. I give this one a 9 out of 10.

Caribbean Berry Hydrating Mist

Next is the Hydrating Mist. In this case, I used this product to refresh an old braidout. So I sprayed it on and re-braided sections. The first thing that struck me was the smell. My oh my! While it was nice, it was really strong and it caught the back of my throat, making me cough a little. However, in terms of what it did for my hair, I liked it. When I took the braids down, my hair felt soft and it had so much shine! My hair ranges from 3B to 4B so it can be tough to get my hair to look shiny but this product did the trick. And the overpowering smell didn’t linger too long – I think it’s just when you spray it. I would give this product a 7 out of 10 – I loved it but the coughing incident kind of reduced that.

Caribbean Berry Curl Me Soft

Lastly, I was sent the Curl Me Soft cream, which I used as a styler for a braidout and I was really impressed. This was by far my favourite of the three products I was sent. My hair has a tendency to get pretty frizzy and this product kept the frizz in check whilst allowing my hair to be soft and have movement. A lot of stylers I’ve tried make my hair a little hard and crunchy so when I find one that still allows my hair to have movement, I’m happy. It was light yet moisturising and with a soft hold. If you like products with lots of hold, it may not be for you but it suited my preferences perfectly. I give this product a 10 out of 10!

My favourite thing about this whole line of products is the fact that they contain natural ingredients (something I always search for) and they’re aloe vera and shea butter based (a couple of my favourite ingredients). These products provide optimum health for my hair. If you’re interested in getting these products, you can find them on AntidoteStreet.com.
