Hairstory: New Wash

There are few things more satisfying in the beauty world than finding a product that actually works. I had that moment a few weeks ago with Hairstory’s New Wash. It’s very different from any other cleanser I’ve ever used. Now Hairstory was hesitant to call this product a cowash but I’ll say it! It’s the perfect cleanser while allowing enough slip to detangle.

You don’t need to follow up with a conditioner after washing/detangling with this product (or if you always condition first – there’s no need for a shampoo).

After washing out this product my predominantly kinky hair felt super soft! That always means setting my style will be so easy. My hair is impossible to style when stiff and crunchy so I really appreciated the soft state this product left my hair in. I followed up with just a little of Hairstory’s Hair Balm. Which added some shine and more softness to my curls.

If you have color in your hair this product is a God-send. It’s so gentle that you don’t have to worry about your color being stripped at all (the product is actually free from detergents).

The smell of the product is neither memorable or offensive and you can’t smell it after you wash it out of your hair so those of you sensitive to fragrance will especially love this.

NewWash is 100% detergent free and cleans using essential oils rather than detergent. The oils distinguish between the good and the bad, only removing what is necessary.

The product costs $40 for an 8oz bottle. However, you can get 20oz refills for $90. Oh and it comes in a handy bottle with a pump which I know us curly girls love. The product is suitable for all hair types. So that means any curl pattern, protective styles, locs and straight hair.
