While at a natural hair event, I received a goodie bag filled with full-sized products. As I pulled out each product, the smile on my face grew wider and wider. However, within moments, my cheerful smile contorted into a grimace. Why, you ask? I blame it on the last product I grabbed from my goodie bag:
Ecoco’s Eco Natural Curling Cocktail. Horrific memories of my not-so-great experience with EcoStyler Styling Gel flooded my mind and I remember saying that I’d never use an Ecoco product again. Fast forward to one month; I finally decided to give the Cocktail a chance. And to my surprise, I loved it! Plot twist of the century, I know.
The first thing that piqued my interest was the Eco Cocktail’s amazing ingredients list. The ingredients were kicked-off with good ‘ol water with Glycerin just around the corner. The ingredients list also boasted a multifarious combination of oils, including, but not limited to: Grapefruit Peel Oil, Acai Fruit Oil, Coconut Oil, and Argan Oil. This product left my hair feeling incredibly soft, light, and moisturized!
It’s no surprise that the abundance of oils played a prominent role in making my hair feel fabulous. I used this product for a twist and curl. I applied the Eco Cocktail to damp hair prior to twisting and curling my hair in small sections. The product is quite light and is certainly not as thick as the Eco Styler Gel. In fact, it has a more medium-watery consistency. I have thick hair, so I assumed that I would need to slather a large dollop on each section of hair.
However, I quickly learned that a little goes a long way. I used about a dime-size amount on each section of hair. I noticed that my curls were “poppin’” after I applied the cocktail, which is always a sign that my hair loves the product. I let my hair dry overnight and the takedown was simply magical. My hair was shiny, moisturized, and defined. My hair did not feel weighed down, nor was it crunchy. I proceeded to whip my hair back and forth, and let me tell you – the movement and bounce was out of this world!
