Lately I’ve been trying a bunch of new conditioners and stylers. One of them being the Ouidad Curl Recovery Curl Defining Styling Soufflé. I’ve been curious to try products by Ouidad because the have a broad product line for wavy, curly, coily and kinky hair. I tried the Curl Recovery Curl Defining Soufflé and the Moisture Lock Leave-in Conditioner. The Soufflé has, in comparison to the Leave-in Conditioner, an amazing fragrance. I is strong, but that’s what I like and what I’m used to. It’s definitely a more expensive product than I’m used to purchasing at €26.40 in Europe and $26.00 in the USA. The very thick consistency cream feels great on my curly hair even though it’s recommended for tight curly and kinky curly hair. The Leave-in on the other hand is also recommended for wavy and curly hair.
Even though the soufflé is very thick, I discovered it had no slip at all when I applied it to my hair. I need a lot of slip wen using products. It dried out my hair immediately and I had to re-wet quite a lot of pieces of hair to bring some moisture back. It left more residue in my hair than the Leave-in and definitely didn’t provide the moisturized feeling to my hair after it air dried. So here are the pros and cons…
PROS:
• Thick creamy consistency.
• Nice smell.
CONS:
• Expensive.
• Dries out the hair.
• No slip.
• Product residue.
Since the cons outweigh the pros I have to give this product a 4 out of 10. Ouidad does a good job of creating good sized samples so perhaps consider trying the sample out firs.
