My sister and I had our first run in with Dark and Lovely Au Naturale Anti-Shrinkage Coil Moisturizing Soufflé early last year when we were being true product junkies and trying anything we could get our hands on. Though we’ve since moved on from this product, we’d love to share our review with you all. Before we get into our opinion however, here are the deets!
Details
• Has the consistency of a cream
• Not – cone or alcohol free
• Made with mango oil, glycerin, and bamboo milk
• Claims to be an anti-shrinkage product for “tight curls and coils”
Directions
After conditioning and detangling with Knot-Out Conditioner (Dark and Lovely Hair Product), apply a generous amount of Coil Moisturizing Soufflé (less for fine hair and more for thick hair) from root to ends using fingers to comb through. Be sure to keep hair damp while applying. Air dry. Finish your look off with Sheen Sealing Nectar (Dark and Lovely Hair Product).
Styling Uses
Good for simple moisturizing of the hair, slight definition, and slight elongation.

Review:
My sister and I have both come to the conclusion that the product just doesn’t live up to its promises. It’s great for moisturizing, and we would still use it for that purpose, but we wouldn’t call it a holy grail for curl definition. We have found that once applied, our hair still shrinks significantly. Sucks, right? I know! And we were so excited at first to think someone had finally come up with a solution for the dreaded shrinkage!
