The Benefits of Walnut Oil for Natural Hair

walnut oil benefits for hair

There are so many natural oils out there, and each has their own individual and unique properties. I want to share with you the benefits of using walnut oil and why every curly girl should give it a try.

Walnut oil is gently cold pressed without the use of any chemicals, and it is carefully filtered to ensure it has the best nutrition and flavor. It has a pale yellow appearance and has no smell to it, just Plain Jane. It’s extracted from English walnuts and is almost like a cousin to almond oil, macadamia nut oil, kukui nut oil and hazelnut oil.

Since it shares the same benefits as other nut-based oils, walnut oil can work as a scalp cleanser and moisturizer, as well as preventing hair loss and encouraging growth. Walnut oil’s fatty acids also work to treat and prevent dandruff.

Here’s how to make an easy mask with walnut oil to add to your regimen. All you need is:
• 10 tbsp walnut oil
• 5 tbsp jojoba oil
• 5 drops tea tree oil

Mix all the oils together into a bowl, section your hair, and apply the mixture to your scalp. Using your fingers, message the oils into your scalp, then cover your head with a shower cap. Allow the oils to sit on your hair for an hour, or overnight if you prefer. Next shampoo it out with a sulfate-free shampoo, then move on to your conditioner, etc.

This recipe leaves my hair feeling super soft and I hope I’ve encouraged you all to try it. Leave your reviews in the comments below.
