Having short hair doesn’t mean you don’t get to play around with different hairstyles and techniques. You can have the most fun when your hair is at its shortest because you can go from long to short to medium lengthed hair all in the same week! There are plenty of updos for short natural hair that you can experiment with, you just have to think outside the box!
In this video I finally got the chance to play around on my sister’s curly hair. I thought it would be helpful to demonstrate how I create an updo on her TWA (teeny weeny afro – check out the Glossary for more terms and acronyms if you’re new to natural hair).
What you’ll need:
• Sensational Soft N Silky Afro Natural x 2 packs in the color of your choice (the 1st pack I split into two for the back and middle sections. The 2nd I used all in the front)
• Bobby Pins
• Styling Gel
• Edge Control
• Hairbands
• Rat tail Comb
I also recommend Zury’s Marley Braid hair. It’s cheap but great quality for the price. Have fun experimenting!
