Cue the praise break music, I found a hair crème that my 4c kinks and coils absolutely love! I stumbled upon My Honey Child: Type 4 Hair Crème while I was picking up Marley hair at my local beauty supply store. This container of amazingness magically appeared in my cart.
And by “magically appeared,” I mean I may or may not have given into my product junkie impulses and grabbed the container from the shelf. The first step is to admit you have a problem, right? Anyway, back to this amazing product! My Honey Child wasn’t making any empty promises when they said the Type 4 Hair Crème would be my mane’s “bestest” friend.
As with any product I pick up, I carefully peruse the ingredients list. While the crème’s ingredients list was quite impressive, the key components that brought a smile to my face were: olive oil and raw honey, two of my hair’s favorite things. Together, olive oil and raw honey are unbeatable moisturizing duo, armed with the properties needed to kick dry, brittle hair to the curb.
This hair crème is quite thick; however, it emulsifies instantly when you rub a small amount between your fingers. When it comes to this delightful crème, a little certainly goes a long way. I noticed that by applying a small amount of this product to my hair, I was able to avoid the weighed-down feeling I sometimes experience when I use other hair crèmes.
My favorite way to use this product is to apply it to damp hair prior to twisting my kinks. The results? Lustrous and supple twists! I then leave my twists in for about three days. When I take my twists down, I’m greeted with a bomb twist-out. As in, my twists are moisturized, soft, and shiny. B-O-M-B.
