I visited the Devachan Salon in Culver City in hopes of getting some shape to my helmet hair. I was more than confident that Denis would be able to give me a great cut. (I have friends who have gotten the coveted Devacut and loved it.) What I didn’t expect was that my hair would be anything better than it’s part-time curly, full-time frizzy texture.
I always thought curl definition was something I’d never have… *wipes away tears* until, until Denis.
For those of you who don’t know, the DevaCut is a patented technique for curly hair where the hair is cut curl by curl. The DevaCurl range of products are also extremely popular, their No-Poo was the first sulfate-free cleanser on the scene.
Of course every employee at Devachan had fabulous curls, that’s to be expected. It wasn’t enough to sway me, though. I was already predicting a not-so-bright future. A couple curls in the back would behave and the rest would be a kinky little nest.
Within the first few minutes of my cut my hair already looked drastically better. (Was there hope?) When Denis began cleansing with the No-Poo my curls were present and accounted for. (Of course, they always behave while wet.) I was still skeptical and couldn’t be convinced until my hair was 100% dry with curls intact. No, no, not just intact, POPPIN’.
I was literally shocked at the result. My hair has honestly NEVER looked so good. I don’t want to sound like some crazy DevaCurl DevaPusher but…you need it. It’s worth it. I wish I had hopped on this sooner. Watch above.
