Lottabody: Wrap Me Foaming Mousse

I have been natural for just over 2 years now, however, I still find myself living in the hair supply store looking for those holy grail products to perfect certain hairstyles. This time around, I was trying to achieve the best perm rod set and twist out possible on my 4c kinky hair using the Lottabody Wrap Me Foaming Mousse.

The Wrap Me Foaming Mousse is said to leave the hair feeling soft and nourished with brilliant shine from the coconut and shea oils used. These oils deeply hydrate hair from the inside out. It has indicated that it can be used on both relaxed and natural hair. To achieve curls, it states to apply foam liberally to towel-dried hair from root to end for definition and allow hair to air dry or diffuse.

I started off with freshly washed, conditioned and lightly “t-shirt” dried hair. Then I applied this product to my wet and detangled hair before twisting. Trying to achieve a faux tapered fro, I wrapped my hair firming around a small blue perm rod, for the sides and the back of my head, and simply stretched the twists at the crown, testing its true twist out potential. I always do my rod sets on wet hair, not skimping on the mousse because it has to be wet to get that perfect set.

I felt this product did a great job with my tight kinky hair. After being air-dried my hair didn’t feel crunchy or stiff and I felt like my style got better with each day. The one challenge I found with this product was during application. When applied prior to detangling, the level of slip was reduced significantly. So I would definitely advised detangling first. For those concerned about only using this product without a leave-in or moisturizing cream, my hair felt very soft and moisturized. The addition of those products can also lead to unwanted product build up and flaking. I found the frizz was very minimal as the days progressed.

I will definitely be using this styling product again and again. I can’t wait to see what other styles I can achieve using this foaming mousse. I’ll surely be trying out Lottabody’s other products from their Coconut and Shea oils line. I will give this product an 8 due to the detangling restrictions faced when used on kinkier tresses. However, this may not be the same for those ladies with curly or wavy hair.
