Tips to Ease Frizz for Curly & Wavy Textures

frizzy curly hair how to control it

Curly hair is both a blessing and a curse. When your hair is on it’s like bouncy, ringlet heaven. When it misbehaves it’s like a haystack of hell. Curls, especially loose curls, are prone to frizz because the cuticle layers on our hair follicles bend. This curve results in our cuticle layers being permanently lifted giving our hair a frizzy appearance. Straight hair, on the other hand, has smoother cuticle layers that lie flat and tightly together – hence the appearance of sheen too.

To combat frizz you’ll need to use a light product that won’t weigh your hair down, leave it greasy or harden it so it has that detestable crunch. We suggest using one of the products below:

Use on wet, freshly cleansed and conditioned hair. Run the product through your hair and scrunch to encourage curl. Once applied resist the urge to touch your hair. Just let it air dry of about 30 minutes. Also avoid brushes and keep dehydration at bay by drinking plenty of water. Moisture is frizzes natural enemy.
