After my Godmother told me how great Dove Quench Absolute products were, I knew I needed to get my hands on some. After going from drugstore to drugstore I was able to find Dove’s Advanced Hair Series. I bought Quench Absolute’s Ultra Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner at Walmart for $4.98 and the Dove Quench Intense Restore Mask at Walgreens for $6.99. But I was very disappointed that I could not find the serum (you can find that review here).
Dove Quench Absolute proclaims to be deeply nourishing therefore able to provide a more defined curl from the inside out. It’s also great for all hair types. So I put the products to the test by putting my staple products aside.
So like any other shampoo, you drench your hair with water and start to apply it to your hair and scalp. The smell of this shampoo hit me right away and it was in heaven. While shampooing, I found that finger detangling was a breeze and my hair was deeply nourishing which left my curls super soft and defined.
Moving on to the mask that “quenches dehydrated hair for perfectly nourished curls, without weighing them down.” The instructions say to apply it generously to wet hair, starting at the middle and smoothing down to the ends. I left it in for 2-5 minutes so the mask penetrated my hair before rinsing. So I applied the mask generously to wet hair from the ends and working my way up to the root. I left it in for 30 minutes. After rinsing my hair clean my curls were softer than ever!
Now for the conditioner which is great at absorbing quickly into the hair. My hair has never felt like this before. It’s manageable, soft and frizz free! I give this line a big thumbs up. From the smell to how my curls look I give this a rating of 9.5 because I did not have the serum. I encourage curly girls no matter what hair type to give this line a try.
