How to Make Wash N Go’s Work for Kinky Hair Types

Moisture, moisture, and more moisture is what our natural hair craves. Water, water, and more water gives it the moisture it needs. What other way than a Wash n Go to give our hair everything it desires?

Wash n Go’s allow our kinky, curly, and coily hair strands to lock in moisture. They can leave our hair soft and bouncy in as little as 1,2,3. Choose your favorite shampoo or co-wash cleanser. If this is your go to style three days out of the week, try using a co-wash as opposed to shampoo.

Use your shampoo or co-wash and begin to lather your hair. Two rounds of a good scrub should suffice. Next apply your favorite ultra moisturizing conditioner. Allow the conditioner to sit on your hair for about 3 to 5 minutes. Next begin to comb your hair gently to detangle your strands or use your fingers if you prefer. Once the detangling process is complete, rinse your hair thoroughly with cool water.

These next few steps are key to a flawless Wash n Go. While your hair is soaking wet apply your leave-in and moisturizer. Flip your head upside down, and apply your styler in this position.

It’s important that your strands are wet during these steps in order to achieve super defined curls. It’s officially time to “shake it like a salt shaker”. This step allows your curls to loosen and separate into their own world.

Flip your head back up squeeze some of the excess water out and step out of the shower. Be sure to check the mirror for any strands that did not behave. Place them in check and now you have soft and moisturized curls. As your hair dries throughout the day your curls will gain fullness and lock in moisture.
