ORS (Organic Root Stimulator) has a line called Curls Unleashed that has multiple products for us curlies. The ORS brand has been around for a while so I was excited to see what this new product line could do for my Kinky textured hair. This Lavish in Lather Sulfate-Free Shampoo is sulfate-free but as the name suggests, it lathers up a storm… which concerns me!
Primarily because I wonder what is causing all that lather. I’ve been under the impression for a while now that sulfate causes lather and as a natural I’ve conditioned myself not to believe that lather = clean hair. The interesting article from the New York Times article suggests otherwise.
The product certainly left my hair clean WITHOUT stripping it. This was a huge and surprising plus given all the lather. If you’ve ever used a sulfate shampoo (as I’m sure most of us have) most of them leave hair feeling dry and lacking moisture.
The smell of this product is non-descript but it definitely gets the job done. At approximately $10 for 12oz you could give it a try but to be brutally honest you could find cheaper products that work just as good or even better.
