As a Curly Ambassador I had the pleasure of using the Creme of Nature Straight From Eden Plant Derived Conditioning Treatment and I’m here to share my thoughts on it with you. As a natural I know how important conditioning my curls are. Whether your hair is more on the wavy or kinky, conditioning is important to maintaining and retaining length and healthy hair.
The challenge is finding the right deep conditioner for your texture. You want something that speaks to exactly what your hair needs at the moment, be it moisture, protein, repairing, etc.
First and foremost, I’m huge on product packaging. How products look on the outside plays a big part in catching my attention. I have to say I was not to impressed with the appearance of this product. It definitely caters to the “Eden” idea behind the brand being that it is plant derived but it did nothing for me.
One of the first great things I noticed about this product is that it’s made with ‘all NATURAL coconut, avocado, and olive oils’. These are huge moisturizers. That is definitely a super plus for me. In addition to that it is also sulfate free, which is a must in all naturalista’s hair products.
The next thing I like to check is the smell of the product. Don’t we all want our hair to smell good? The smell of this product reminds me of plants in a good way. It’s almost a sweet clean smell. At least that’s the best way for me to describe it. Not my most favorite smell but it works for me.
Now to using the product! After co-washing my hair I sectioned my hair into four to make detangling and application of the product easier. First thing I noticed when squeezing the product into my hand was that it’s not super messy. I hate using things in my hair that get messy very quickly. The thickness of the product is important also. Let me say the consistency of this product is very good. It saturates wonderfully and moves smoothly down the sections of your hair.
A product having good slip is also very important. This product has just enough slip. It doesn’t have so much slip that it gets everywhere but it has enough that you will to have to use a whole lot to get your hair saturated. I applied it to all four sections, twisted them, and then placed a plastic cap on my head.
Now, on the bottle it says to leave the conditioner in for 10-15 minutes. As always I left mine in for a couple of hours. I do this because of my two small children that need tending to. Hashtag Mommy Duties! After about 3 hours I rinsed it out with cool water to make sure I sealed in as much moisture as I could. And guys…. I was really pleased with the results.
THE FINAL VERDICT
My hair was super soft and super moisturized. I was able to finger comb my hair with no problem. Styling my hair was also easy. I didn’t have to use a whole lot of my styler to have my hair cooperate. My ends are normally the biggest problem area on my head so I pay extra attention to them. They were super moisturized and gave me no problems as well. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect from this product.
It is not something I would have picked up on my own normally. But after seeing the results I am happy that I have it now. Ultimately I would give this product 8 out of 10. I only subtracted two points because the smell isn’t my favorite. Everything else checks out. This product has some wonderful ingredients and delivers on what it says on the bottle. I would totally recommend that my fellow naturals give it a try! Until next time, stay Curly!
