The Bun On Fleek

Many of us can agree that a hair bun is amongst one of the easiest protective styles you can do. It is simple with a jazzy flair, but can otherwise be boring if you don’t add a unique spin to it. Here is a collection of styles to get your creative mind going for you next set of hair buns on natural hair.

THE FRENCH BRAID-BUN COMBO

First one up is this french braided bun gorgeous updo. This bun style would be perfect for a night out on the town or even an everyday look. To start off, you split your hair in even sections (top and bottom). Then you braid up from the back of your head and work your way to the ends of your bottom section. If you have long hair, you will have plenty of hair leftover to complete the bun on top. If your hair is on the shorter end you can opt to use Marley hair to give your hair bun some fullness. Next combine your front and bottom sections and secure with an elastic band. Two strand twist the rest of your hair down to the ends and then wrap it in a circle around the crown of your head and pin into place.

THE FLAT TWIST-BUN COMBO

This next one is more time consuming but easy none the less. ChroniCurls flat twists four sections of her hair and pulled it back into a sassy bun.

THE SIMPLE DUTCH BRAID BUN

Next, is one of my personal favorites, The Simple Dutch Braid Bun by NaturalMetra

THE ELEGANT BUN

Last style is by TiffanyNicholsDesign. She shows us how to do the elegant twist n bun in a few easy steps.

There’s no need to give up on the “go to” hair bun that never fails us . Hopefully these styles will give you some newly added motivation to your journey. As well as inspire you to come up with a variation of the “hair bun” on your own.
