But how will you reach your hair goals? Do you have a plan in place? Curlsunderstood Ambassadors are here to help!

While I still stand by my phrase “The proof is in your practice, not the products”, we still need products to help us along the way. The products you purchase for your hair type are also very critical when trying to achieve healthy hair goals. Well enough stalling, lets see which products made the list:

BeKekoa Be Clair Shampoo and BeKekoa Be Clean Conditioner

Reason: These products are my staple products for cleansing my hair. The Be Clair Shampoo is a clarifying shampoo that removes dirt and buildup from the hair and scalp. I follow up with the Be Clean Conditioner which is a very moisturizing conditioner that doubles as co-wash treatment and leave-in conditioner. Both improve strength, moisture, color retention and are sulfate and paraben-free!

Jerome Russell BWild Color Spray (temporary color)

Reason: The perfect alternative to coloring your hair and/or adding a little edge to your do. I loved using the purple hue, this past summer. It gave me an edgier look without the commitment.

Lottabody Shape Me Custard Gelee

Reason: The gelee is perfect for my wash n’ go! It tames frizz, adds moisture, provides light hold and A LOT of shine. Another perk of this product is that it is reasonably priced and a little goes a long way.

TGIN Honey Hair Mask

Reason: The honey mask not only smells divine but seriously quenches your hair’s thirst. I deep condition with this product weekly to ensure that my hair is moisturized throughout and moisture is retained.

Wonder Curl Get Set Jelly

Reason: The Get Set Jelly is perfect for wash n go’s, as it tames frizz and helps smooth unruly strands. It is infused with organic aloe vera gel, which promotes hair growth and helps you maintain a healthy scalp. But one of the best parts about this also reasonably priced styling product is that it is one of the best edge tamers! If you run your hair under the faucet and apply the Get Set Jelly, your edges will be LAID!

DevaCurl Heaven In Hair Deep Conditioner

Reason: it’s a super rich, ultra hydrating product that lives up to its name leaving my hair soft as silk and curls super-defined.

DevaCurl No Poo Decadence

Reason: A cleanser that is sulfate, silicone, paraben and lather free and STILL removes dirt and buildup with ease. Plus it smells amazing!

Eco Styler Curl-n-Style Styling Cocktail

Reason: This styling product provides a soft hold that doesn’t look stiff or oily, and leaves absolutely no flakes!

Jerome Russell BWild Color Spray

Reason: A quick and easy way to spice up your look without having to worry about damaging your curls with chemical coloring. Very pigmented! Spray it on, and it just washes it out.

Proganix Quench Moisture Balm

Reason: A lightweight formula that doesn’t weigh my hair down, adds so much moisture and shine.

Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Moisture & Shine Sulfate Free Shampoo

Reason: This is a great shampoo to use on dry hair. Great smell, lather and safe for natural hair!

Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner

Reason: This leave-in conditioner is light, moisturizing and has a great smell! It also has great slip, which aids in detangling the hair. Perfect to add moisture to hair before styling.

EcoStyler Gel (Pink)

Reason: This gel provides a strong hold without flaking. I use this gel to set twists and to lay those baby hairs down!

OSSAT Naturals Natural Oils Moisture Mist

Reason: The hair mist is packed with 5 essential oils and is easy to apply to the hair. Great to use as a curl refresher or sealant.

Wide Tooth Comb

Reason: This product is on the essentials list for every naturalista! A wide tooth comb makes wash day a breeze!

Eden Body Works Coconut Shea Leave-in

Reason: Leave-ins are probably the product I buy most frequently, the Coconut Shea leave-in is one of my favorite finds this year. It’s very lightweight, yet moisturizing, and it mixes well with any styler or gel. I love mixing it with water in a spray bottle. I use it as my daily leave-in and curl refresher.

Curls Unleashed Curl Boosting Jelly

Reason: Every styler I’ve tried so far has done nothing for my hair. I don’t know if it’s my texture or the ingredients but it’s been difficult for me to find a gel/styler that works… until I came across the Curls Unleashed Curl Boosting Jelly! This product is the perfect mix of hold and flex. I achieve defined, crunch-free curls using this product. And the smell! If you don’t want to invest in the $15 full size jar, check out your local Family Dollar and get the individual packs for just $1. Enough to style your rod set or twist out, plus some left over.

Mizani Detangling Brush

Reason: Detangling brushes… well brushes or combs in general aren’t tools I usually incorporate in my regimen. However, this Dessata for Mizani detangling brush is like no other! The pod curved shape fits perfectly in my palm, while the soft flexi teeth bend and glide through my curls without snagging or ripping. I only use this on wash days and AFTER I’ve finger detangling, but it’s great to use for any tangles you may have missed.

Pantene Truly Natural Cowash

Reason: Hands down, my absolute favorite co-wash! The slip on this product is better than anything I’ve ever tried. It cleanses, detangles and moisturizes my hair all in one step! After rinsing and without applying any product my hair is left shiny, soft and ready for styling. Pantene Truly Natural Co-wash is number one on my list because this is a must-have product for me.

Tropic Isle Living Black Jamaican Castor Oil

Reason: This is another staple product for me. Black Jamaican Castor Oil can be used in multiple ways; it’s hard to pick just one reason why I love it! Some naturals complain about the thickness, but I love it. I use it for the following: to seal my ends, hot oil treatments, mixing it in with conditioners, and use it topically, applying it my weak areas (like my crown and edges area). It stimulates hair growth and thickness. It’s a great oil to have in every natural’s home.
